2019 Directing Reel

Check out my 2019 Directing Reel!

Watch some of the full versions of those clips right here on this page!

These are some of the short films & video projects I've directed over the years. Many of them were in tandem with ROW 211 FILMS, a production company I founded with three of my closest friends. You can visit the ROW 211 FILMS site to see more about the projects we do together, and the work of Daniel Rester who is the other writer/director on our team.

A young actor, unsure of his performance in a play, receives bizarre compliments from a mysterious stranger in the night outside of the theatre... compliments that make him wonder if a "job well done" can sometimes be a bad thing... "You Were So Good" is one of the shortest films I've ever made. It screened at the 2018 Ashland Independent Film Festival. Starring Torrin Kelly as Joe Kyle Sanderson as The Stranger Yang Sea Liu as Joe's Castmate Mig Windows as Stella Written, Directed & Edited by Mig Windows Shot by Mig Windows & David Kirk West on Panasonic GH2 cameras Director of Photography: David Kirk West Sound Recording by Derek To Wan Music "The Dread" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ This is the unofficial first episode of "The 4th Wall," a series of short psychological horrors about the theatre world. Hope you enjoy!

"Lonely Alone" is a song on Alice DiMicele's new album, "One With the Tide," and I was honored and delighted to direct this music video for it. The story is a powerful one of alcohol addiction and its effects on relationships. Starring Manu Bains and LeoDavid Fernandez. Featuring Jenny Conlee-Drizos from "The Decemberists.”

For all you theatre students out there who've ever been stressed out about seeing The Cast List... this one's for you! I teamed up with Buck The System's David Kirk West, SOU writer/director Carlos-Zenen Trujillo and actor Tavis Williams back in February to create this short silent film in February of 2017. It was how I wanted to spend my birthday, making films!

He promised her he'd never love anybody else, but he LIED! Men, right? Now a ghost, vengeful Jenny is out for blood. "I Never Will" is the second in a trilogy of films called the "I Never" trilogy, which you can learn more about by visiting HERE. But before you watch this one, you'd better start with...

"I Never Can" is the first film in the "I Never" trilogy. Possibly the most popular short film I've ever done - it's screened at film festivals like Killer Valley, Klamath Independent, Silver Dollar, AxWound, and picked up an honorable mention and nice review by the Tabloid Witch Awards.

One of the more controversial shorts I've done, this mostly-single-take story focuses on a model who is becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the requests of a male photographer. Sound familiar? It did to #metoo. This film screened at the Jefferson State Flixx Fest and got a startling reaction from the Southern Oregon University Student Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Jimmy Dix Award for Excellence in Casting. Speaking of which...

My very first film! Well, apart from class projects. I made this film for Jimmy Dix, who stars in it with me. Jimmy was not long for this world, and has since passed. When I saw clips from this movie showing at his memorial service, that was one of the moments that inspired me to continue making films.

HOW TO MARRY A VAMPIRE

I am also the creator of a truly bizarre little horror comedy web series called "How To Marry A Vampire." It follows the adventures of a former bride of Dracula looking for love and the cast of weirdos who compete for her affections on a doomed reality show that goes off the rails. Episodes will sometimes air months or even years apart from each other depending on how busy I get with other things. I mean, because “the cast and crew all disappeared and these tapes were all that remain…” (Wink wink.)

Join us for the first installment of the chronicles of a doomed reality show that set out to record the first ever dating show to feature a real-life vampire. Everyone vanished and only these tapes remain.
Meet Millarca von Austria, Dracula's ex-bride who is looking for love. In this episode she meets a Caterer, a Stage Magician, and a Cat Trapped Inside a Human Body! Could one of them be the perfect man?
Drake O. shows off his burial skills while Drake L. talks "stuff." Millarca knows Fenrick is a bad boy, but doesn't know that he came on the show to kill her.
Meet the slippery Zachary, the smooth Edgar, and the, well... Sketchy... Sketch.
Millarca makes a big first impression on Blood Donor Wes. Meanwhile, celebrity host Ian Fyfield explains the rules to the unruly bachelors. Will Adam be able to call his mom? Will Drake C. find a coin? Are any of us even alive? Tune in to find out!
In the series' first ever "Elimination Ceremony," vampire bachelorette Millarca has to choose which of her suitors will be "invited in" and which will be sent home... to their maker. (Shot entirely 100% at night time.) http://howtomarryavampire.com/
Millarca takes Sketch on a romantic bread-eating walk, where he tells her about his misgivings over the "murdery vibes" Fenrick is giving him. Meanwhile, Millarca's ex-lover, Vladislava, surprises them all with a sudden appearance at the castle.

New episodes coming in 2019? Maybe…
